MELINDA ROGERS, MANAGING DIRECTOR

Before founding Very Media, Melinda was an award-winning journalist, a trusted media advisor for a government department, and she managed a digital communications team and strategy for one of Australia’s leading universities. When it comes to coaching and teaching, Melinda is a consultant for the Queensland Writers Centre, delivering workshops on content strategy. She also teaches public relations and communications strategies at tertiary level, and she is the creator of online training course Content that Counts. Her ability to implement and execute successful communication strategies for businesses was recognised in 2018 when she was named a finalist in the Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur Awards. Melinda also holds a Bachelor of Communications, a Diploma of Marketing and a Graduate Certificate in Education Law.

Michael Jacobson, Very Media

Michael Jacobson, Editorial Director

The co-founder of Very Media, Michael is one of the most experienced, respected and versatile writers in Australia. A multiple award-winning journalist and best-selling novelist, he was the senior feature writer for the Gold Coast Bulletin for more than 20 years. During this time he was also the writer and editor of several specialist publications for the newspaper, and his weekly column is one of the longest-running in Australia. Michael joined Griffith University’s Office of Marketing and Communications as a specialist writer in 2013. In 2016, he became Communications Manager for the university’s Development and Alumni Office, creating and delivering content across all platforms to engage with thousands of graduates and supporters of the university. He is also a former editor of Griffith’s annual magazine.
