New year, new goals and many thanks

With the new year in full swing, Very Media is tackling 2020 with 20/20 vision about what we want to achieve. Growth, new challenges and continuing to achieve great outcomes for our clients are all priorities.

But first we’d also like to thank the people and places that made 2019 such a fulfilling year, and in turn make 2020 so exciting.

Southern Cross University Marine Sciences research designed and edited by Very Media

Very Media's specialisation in the education sector led to plenty of interesting projects during 2019. At Southern Cross University, for example, we were kept busy delivering articles, features and other content and liaison services across print, TV and radio, website and social media platforms.

This culminated in our biggest project to date, namely a suite of three 40-page books celebrating the brilliant scientific research at Southern Cross University. What an inspiration it has been to speak to the researchers in Lismore, Coffs Harbour and on the Gold Coast.

Very Media was also on hand for the launch of Southern Cross University’s new campus at Coomera in the northern Gold Coast, along with its fantastic music and digital media programs.

Our ties with Griffith University remain strong, with Very Media again assuming responsibility for web and media content and social media around the internationally esteemed Griffith University Integrity 20 Conference in Brisbane.

And for the third year in succession, Very Media provided content and editing for Griffith’s annual magazine. What a year of achievements at Griffith.

Very Media was also delighted to add Bond University to our list of valued clients in 2019, with Managing Director Melinda Rogers developing a suite of content to promote it new Transformation Degrees. Here is an example of one of the articles supplied. The link with Bond has also been strengthened with Melinda delivering her Content that Counts workshop to students from the Transformer Program in February.

In fact, we welcomed several new clients in 2019. Projects included teeing off with a media campaign for Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club; chilling out for sweet success with national award-winning ice-cream company Gelato & Co; and being pampered by the beauty and therapeutic techniques at Ultra Body & Skin. All received great publicity and we look forward to helping you all again in 2020.

In other news, 2019 saw Melinda’s second nomination for the Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, followed by the launch of her Content that Counts online training course.

A Heck of a Tale by Michael Jacobson

Meanwhile, Michael published his third book, A Heck of a Tale, which tells the story of the Gold Coast’s pioneering Heck family, the South-East Queensland sugar industry and the rise of the Gold Coast.

So, all in all a very busy year for Very Media and Melinda and Michael look forward to an even busier 2020.
