Very Media’s Melinda Rogers has been announced as a finalist in the 2019 AusMumpreneur Awards in the Emerging Mumpreneur category.
These awards, presented by The AusMumpreneur Network, recognise and celebrate Australian women who, as well as being mothers, are achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation.
The awards acknowledge the increasing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
As Very Media’s co-founder, Melinda has been balancing motherhood and business as she raises her three children - Havarna (6), Maverick (5) and Zavier (7 months) - with husband Dave.
“Starting my own business allows me to continue my career while having more flexibility around my own schedule,” she said.
“But don’t get me wrong, there are still plenty of late nights once the children go to bed and I stay up working to keep delivering for our clients.”
While it is challenging to be a successful business woman while raising a family, Melinda has some positive advice based on her own experience.
“Don’t hesitate to start your own business or side hustle. If you believe in yourself, you can really achieve anything you set your mind to.”
